Target Dollar Spot Gets You Organized

Who says getting organized has to cost an arm and a leg? I hit the Target dollar section (AKA the “Dollar Spot”) today and found plenty of organizing tools that costs between $1 and $3 each. Here are a few scores for a few bucks:

Metal buckets: Just a buck each, they could corral anything from art supplies (think colored pencils, pens, sharpies) to make-up (brushes, eyeliner, mascara or anything tall and skinny). They come in a variety of colors, making them work for both grown-ups and the wee little ones. (Silver and black are good all-purpose colors, but you’ll also find a variety of seasonal hues. Right now, it’s all about the pastels, last month, it was red, pink and white. Stock up when you see a color that you love. Label with adhesive stickers or use Sharpies.

Glass jars: This set of two blue canning jars was just $3. I love to use glass jars in the kitchen to debulk the pantry. I keep a variety of sizes on hand. Rice, pasta, chocolate chips, flour — it’s all fair game to get poured into jars. Easy to see when you need to restock, easy to open and close, keeps things fresh, and they just look so gorgeous (photo worthy, even!) in a pantry. Glass jars also work great in the bathroom to keep cotton balls or q-tips on the vanity.

Cardboard boxes: Cute, easy to label, and at just $1 to $3 each, what a deal! They come in a variety of sizes and colors. Some have fabric handles. Super flexible and usable in just about any area of the home or office to capture small items.

Labels: Just about every container is made better with a label. Target has an assortment of inexpensive labels, including this cute pack of 8 for $1.

I’d love to hear how the Target Dollar Spot gets you organized. I also welcome your favorite dollar store (Target or elsewhere) finds. Comment below, please!
